The advice article said that if I wanted to sleep better, I should quit working and wind down well before bedtime. Did the advice help? No, I just lay there thinking about all the work I need to get done.
“lay” is a transitive verb, as in “Lay your burden down”.
It should be “No, I just lie there thinking…”
Remember, we don’t want kids who read these comics to learn bad English.
