In my day teachers made you wear it on your nose. Someone had cinnamon gum and she had a red nose all day.

I wore glasses. I was very sneaky about my gum. I’d chew and blow bubbles when the teacher was writing on the blackboard. One day, I blew a huge bubble that I was unable to suck back in and it popped all over my glasses. Snagged. and embarrassed. I still don’t remember how I removed all that gum from my glasses.

We were always just asked if we’d brought enough for everyone else. I don’t remember anyone having that much foresight.
