Something tells me, teachers will know. Especially, when so many kids papers look remarkably the same. In reality, students that use AI to write their papers, they are only cheating themselves and making themselves dumber.
Way back in my first year of teaching, I got an essay from a kid that was too well written and with vocabulary far beyond the kid’s lexicon. It didn’t take me long to find the article he’d copied from the most recent issue of Scientific American in the school library. When I laid his essay down next to the magazine article and asked for an explanation, he faked shock and said, “Wow! What a coincidence!”

Ah, the future. Why should we waste time learning when the computers can do everything for us?
