Heart of the City by Steenz for January 26, 2012
Transcript:
Mom named me "Heart" because she said I was her heart when I was born. My dad left us to be an actor in NYC, so it was just me and mom against the world. Then Mrs. Angelini came along and if it wasn't for her, I wouldn't know what calamaris was. Heart: Is this a pencil eraser? Mrs. Angelini: No,it's seafood.
Apologies for correcting you sjsczurek, or rather your host, but calamari is squid and it’s the entire body, minus the beak. The body is often cut crosswise into rings, then battered and fried. There are as many methods of preparation as there are cultures. Absolutely wonderful food no matter how it prepared.
