Its amazing that there was a point every school year where even the teachers just sort of gave up. But that was before the high stakes standardized tests became the norm.

What a pity that with only a month left, the teachers are still trying to provide opportunities to learn. To hear the strip and the comment-writers tell it, the proper approach to education would be nine months of sedation followed by summer vacation, repeated until the child is reduced to a dysfunctional idiot. Why is it that Americans hate the brain and worship the body?
