Mom must be thinking, “My daughter posts blogs? Since when?”

Better she forgets that than having a mom that checks your texts.

So Heart is moving from 7 or 8 years old to 11 years old (6th grade). The cartoonist is going to have to jettison all his Santa Claus-related stories. (In actuality, even 7-year-olds generally don’t believe in Santa Claus.) In the district I went to, they called it Junior High, and it was 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. That actually made it worse, I think. The kids ranged from 12 to 15 years old (because they let a lot of kids wait about starting 1st grade until they were 7 years old).

So they’re just going to pretend that Heart didn’t just spend two weeks passed out from a severe illness? Or was the whole thing a dream and she was never really sick?

Ah, I remember the olden days when they were still called weblogs.

Am I seeing things, or is Heart taller?

I’m guessing she just dreamed she woke up, and is dreaming that she’s suddenly a middle schooler.

I’m not sure I understand the big jump. He still had lots and lots to explore with her being the age and grade she was. What happened to 4th and 5th grade????!!!!!

Nice to know it’s not just me who missed the time warp!

Does that mean that boys are going to become a distraction for her?

Kind of looks like the strip’s moving toward a similarity to the old “Luann” strip (before it was ruined by making Luann a pretty blonde [who somehow has very dark-haired parents] adult).

It’s a shame that things kind of skipped between grade school and middle school, but I guess Mark didn’t know if he even wanted Heart to advance grades. Hindsight is 20/20.
