What makes me tilt my head is I just caught up on the strip.. and there were tons of comments about the “new heart and dean” but while the style of the strip has changed (both in art and going from wacky slice of life comedy to more mellow slice of life comedy), Heart.. really hasn’t. She’s older, she has slightly diffrent things she likes.. but she was never that book smart and never really applied that hard and class under Tatulli, and she was always egocentric and self absorbed. Steenz really didn’t change her all that much in the transition and same with Dean, he simply made them a tad more realistic in both if nothing else and got rid of their romantic feelings for one another. The last part I feel shoudl’ve had an actual arc to it instead of moving on to Dean and Charlotte (Who I also really like as a couple, so it’s not as bad as it could’ve been), so quickly. Not some love triangle nonsense but an acknolwedgment Heart moved on from her childhood crush on him after so much time.
