A bachelor always ate the same meal at the same table at the same café, and always left the same waitress the same tip – three pennies, laid neatly in a row. One day she said to him, “You know, I can read a lot about people by the tips the leave. You put the pennies in a row, which tells me your neat; the first penny tells me that you’re frugal; the second penny tells me that you’re a bachelor; and the third penny tells me your father was a bachelor, too.”
