At our first Camporee under a new Scoutmaster, my Boy Scout Troop did a skit where our three patrols formed three rings around him as the Senior Patrol Leader narrated about a tree coming into winter. “First the leaves fall off,” and the first patrol went away. “Then the branches fall off,” and the second followed them, “then it loses its bark,” and the third left, “and all that’s left is the sap in the middle.”
