Well……You go down the road till you see a big tree on your right, after that look to the left about 50 feet and you will see a side road. Now go past that about 2 miles and look for a fork in the road. Go right about a mile and then look to the right for a sign. Cross the bridge avoiding the troll then come to a magical tree inhabited by elves. Now comes the tricky part.
The first GPS we got had a man’s voice, and gave directions similar to those. (I think he got a job with Apple.) We got a new one with a woman’s voice, and she says “Turn here, you idiot”.
When we first moved here … 25+ years ago … people would give us directions like “turn where the barn used to be”. Now we find ourselves doing the same thing. It may be time to move.
…if it’s not there, then try 5.66 blocks to the NE (as the crow flies). If that ain’t it, try 8 blocks to the west. (Have you tried four blocks vertically?)
Just before Christmas…. coming back from mailing the Christmas cards at the nearest mall, I stopped a woman and gave her directions. ……. she hadn’t asked. ….. Turned out… she did need directions.
I think the only reason so many people live in San Francisco is because they couldn’t find their way out.EVERY time I go into that city, it takes an hour to get out . . . even the trash collector I asked didn’t know how to get to the GG bridge.

This reminds of asking for directions before GPS. When the person said you can’t miss it, I knew I was in trouble.
