I teach about life in the 1700s, and bought a wooden rifle that shoots rubber bands. Can’t take it to schools with me, as it is too dangerous.

I wish I still had my old “Fanner 50” from childhood.Though now I have a working reproduction Colt “Peacemaker” in .45 LC, so I guess things worked out.

see… this is why we can’t carry our pocket knives. MacGyver would be shaking his head. Can’t fix things with gum, paper clip, rubber band and pocket knife – without the pocket knife!

In real life, American toy safety & liability laws are such that few manufacturers will dare to manufacture any toy that looks like a real weapon. If they do and a person is injured / killed because someone else thought it to be real, then the toy company is liable even if they followed the mandates concerning having safety markings on the weapon. []Hence all the obviously fake toy guns out on the market now.
