It’s that reading aloud that gets her!

Probably because he reads out loud from the passages that explain what the movies just kind of gloss over.

I hope Unger isn’t taking this from his own life.

What, out loud ?

my wife said this all the time. she felt that I was ignoring her unless I was doing the same thing she was. I wasn’t allowed to read I had to watch every lousy show she wanted to watch no matter what.

“And sit up straight, don’t slouch…and where’s that cup of tea I asked for nearly TWENTY seconds ago? My mother TOLD me not to marry you, Harold, but fool that I was, I didn’t listen…and don’t interrupt me, yes you were, I SAW your eyebrows twitching…” etc. etc. etc.

“Your thoughts are too LOUD!”

What kind of TV are they watching with that ancient set and rabbit-ears antennae? Everything is over-the-air digital, satellite or cable.

This one strikes close to home. I actually lived with someone, years ago, who would get extremely annoyed that I would read a book while she was watching some inanity on television. She felt I was being selfish because I wasn’t willing to share her viewing experience. She also would constantly comment on the program she was watching.Needless to say, this was a doomed relationship !

“And don’t you look at me in that tone of voice!”

Turning those pages is so annoying!
