I have a military-induced bald spot. It was caused by wearing a plastic bag over my head and putting a pot over it for several hours. It was called a practice chemical defense drill and the practice equipment had not been properly cleaned.
I lost all the hair on my crown in a period of three months and haven’t lost a hair in the 30 years since. This is a first-world problem. Considering what could have happened to me in the military, I’ll take it.
Getting a hair transplant is problematic. My hair is very dense from the neck up. Below the neck I am most definitely “The Naked Ape” or as my wife puts it “nary hairy.”

Seems like they took a lot more hair from his chest then they needed for the tiny head! :-)
