I notice that Bea has been (… quite effectively) dropping the backgrounds out of some panels lately, though Panel #3 (… of 5!) more than makes up for that. ✨❤️✨
Something about the last panel reminds me of the “Adult Michaela/Adult Gabby” sketches Bea put up on Patreon a while ago. I liked how Michaela wound up with Roy’s facial features, but has Charlene’s (short) light brown hair; while Gabby wound up with her Mom’s face, but has Dad’s thick, dark curly hair. Char does look so much like Michaela in that panel. And that’s one of the aspects of Bea’s art that I like the most: When characters are related, she makes them look related, but without resorting to the “sameface” trap that so many other comic artists fall into. The daughters look similar to their parents, so you can tell they’re Roy and Charlene’s kids; yet they have their own aspects setting them apart from their parents. It takes real talent to pull that off while avoiding the “sameface” look in a cast of characters.
Okay, so I got my book yesterday afternoon YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY ✨❤️✨ and I noticed something very interesting in the forward. Hubbs and Ellie’s romance is mentioned as an arc lasting through THREE YEARS of the comic. Somebody better have the paddles charged up on the defibrillator, because a few of us are going to need them!!

You should see yourself as the Lumbercat Pumama, you’re quite wild and free then. ;)

The snipt appears first to be her camera whipping into place, but…
It is her top shirt button.

I love the 1st panel. Give up the goods Charlene.

Little rabbit sweetly foreshadows the more “wild n’ free” era to come.

Panel #1 makes Ellie and Sedine look like cartoon characters. Very clever.

And with one ‘snipt’ of her top button…, she spreads her wings, ready to fly.
