mr. negato: I didn't set out to be a villain, y'know. mr. negato: I just wanted power! but once I got it, I had to defend it....and when I lost it, I had to plot revenge, and all that needs funding, which I had to procure through questionable means.. ralston: Sounds like you could have just gone to congress. mr. negato: with those crooks? Ghostkeeper must certainly be able to tell the difference between a city losing a sports team and losing a city. It’s another example of the mistake of equating economic power (do this or I won’t give you this money) with criminal violence (do this or I’ll shoot you) or goverment power (do this or I’ll put you in jail) .
Economic power in a free country is fundamentally voluntary, while power based on force is not. Those who conflate the two do it to disparage economic freedom. Maybe that’s not Ghostkeeper’s intention, but that’s the effect.
