Well it’s understandable. Brian Braddock no longer drinks so he’d hardly meet a barfly hero.

I’ve seen Judge Dredd handle some pretty powerful opponents… My general opinion, however, is that the Brits like a hero who can out-think an enemy & Americans like a hero who can beat the stuffings out of an enemy. So we think they’re wimps and they regard our heroes as stupid thugs.

[nerd alert] There’s an actual DC comic called ‘Superman -True Brit’ where baby Kal-El lands in England and is adopted by a family too embarrassed of what the neighbors will think to let him use his powers.
Written by John Cleese.

Yeah – Spiderman should be Amercian as well. American has a robust training for thespians. Why give quentessential roles to UK actors? Will there be an Amercian play Doctor WHO ? I think not. Harry Potter? No. Then why our heroes. Although I admit Daniel Day-Lewis was the PERFECT fit for playing Lincoln.

The British aren’t wimpy. They held off the Germans by themselves until America could come to their aid. And at least the Brits aren’t total ingrates like the French.
