Jalapenos are green. Those look like Habaneros, although the one in his hand is rather long to be a Hab… Oh well, I don’t read this strip for the artwork.
Jalapenos will ripen to red. The heat is concentrated in the veins, seeds and the top of the pepper. If you get suckered into biting a jalapeno, just bite the lower part, it won’t be as hot.
