They might just as well go home (or somewhere warm and inside). It will take quite a while to get together everything they’re going to need.

A man went ice fishing. He starts to drill a hole in the ice. Suddenly he hears a voice that says, “There are no fish under the ice.”

He gets up and moves to a different location. As he starts to drill another hole, he hears the voice again, “There are no fish under the ice.”

So he moves again. As he starts drilling the next hole he hears the voice say the same thing again. Perplexed he calls out “Who are you?”

The voice answers “I am the ice rink manager.”

Step 1. Cut hole in ice

This reminds me of a joke. How do you catch a polar bear? Cut a hole in the ice and pour peas in it. When the bear comes to take a pea, kick him in the ice hole.
