Back when I could still backpack, I cut the straps off a fanny pack, cut 2 strips of strap & sewed them on to as belt loops, strung it on the hip belt of my pack, and carried my camera in it.
And Ron Wickersham, the electronics genius behind Alembic basses & guitars, wears 2 of them – though friends that have seen what he pulls out of them say they’re not fanny packs – they’re a utility belt (now if I just had a Bat signal so he’d bring me a Series II 12-string…..).
