Just to be serious for a moment, is employment the only reason to get an education? Sure, it’s good to have a marketable skill; there’s a whole range of skills out there, from fixing cars to building bridges, and everything else. But isn’t there some value in knowing about what human beings have thought and created over the years? I would say that there’s room for both kinds of education.
