Jojo! are you running around without your sunscreen?!
what is I am?
that would be disobeying Mom and Dad!
Did Mom and Dad put you in charge of me?
well, look at that, Its motorized and everything!
I went to our annual work picnic a while back and was in the sun all day. When we went back to work on Monday and I took off my sunglasses and was about to put on my safety glasses. A lot of my white co-workers were astonished to see how much darker my face had gotten except around where my sunglasses were. Back then we were not aware of melanoma. Just thought we could tolerate more sun because of where we originate from. Thank goodness scientist found that having more pigment didn’t stop skin cancer.
Uh….no. Extra darkness does not, repeat,NOT equal extended protection from deep frying. I speak with expertise in my long life as a professional Black Person.
On July 17th My strip contained a colorist’s error. Marcy’s mother, “Maureen” is depicted as white. I have heard from readers all across the country who are confused by this mistake. I promise to work more closely with my colorists at my syndicate to maintain consistency in the characters of “JumpStart”. -Robb Armstrong
in fact, white skin is a birth defect caused by a defective gene. It is beneficial in high latitudes because it allows the body to synthesize Vitamin D more easily but gives less protection from ultraviolet radiation.-Here I am stuck with pasty skin.

Well thanks for educating me. My black inlaws never mentioned it and it never occurred to me to ask.
