The late Common Pleas judge Bernard Goodheart started a tradition that still exists at Philadelphia’s City Hall. From 1977 through the year of his retirement (2000), Judge Goodheart devoted Valentine’s Day to marrying couples. The tradition continues, albeit with other judges.Judge Goodheart, ever modest, said he was just living up to his name.

There’s nothing that says you can’t get married at City Hall, and then have the wedding ceremony later when his mom has recovered.

That would be the way to go. You can always have the huge wedding later on.

So, go to city hall and get hitched, then have the wedding as scheduled. The latter is mostly for show anyway.

There are people who get married at the courthouse and then later have a really nice reception.

you can still have the celebration after marrying at city hall…Kenny’s adoption is more inmportant and time is a wastein’.

How long before they just give this white family a spin off? Most of the stories lately have been about them after all!

I’m sure the adoption agency would understand if they explain what happened to the groom’s mother. No doubt the homeless shelter collapsing under heavy snow is big news. Perhaps they can invite them to the wedding.

OR… They could do what Michael and Deanna did in FBOFW: Get married in secret, and then throw the big shindig later for everyone else’s benefit.
