See May 17th’s “Jump Start” (https://www.gocomics.com/jumpstart/2020/05/17?ct=v&cti=2208697) in order to reference the fire that they are talking about…
In this time of rioting an property destruction, this comic falls into bad taste. Anarchy and destruction of other people’s property and the chaos of arson is never a good things.
If Lynn’s family owned the prison, they could have legally relocated the prisoners. But instead she illegally destroyed property and endangered a lot of lives, including the firefighters.
This strip made my day. I love the layers! Joe and Marcy are talking about saving lives. That’s what they do. Been reading Jump Start forever, but never signed up and commented. Thank you for seeing freedom in difficult situations.
So she burnt down an overcrowded prison with COVID-19 spreading, which meant prisoners were evacuated to other already overcrowded prisons, increasing the likelihood of COVID-19 spreading in those prisons. Not a good move, not at all.

By sponsoring the fire, she risked many lives. Just because she got lucky doesn’t make her innocent of arson.

The worst acts can be spun to look better than they are. This is just spin.

So she did a bad thing for a good reason?

Wait a minute, did we skip the whole storyline where Lynn was arrested and convicted of arson?

Seriously, anyone else remember when the strip was about Joe and his family?

It’s hard to do right by doing wrong.

If intentional arson falls within Marcy’s definition of “heroism”, she needs a new dictionary.
