Cherelle Parker (the 100th mayor of Philadelphia) must be bittersweet in the sports world this morning. The Eagles beat the Packers yesterday 22-10, but the Chinatown stadium that Ms. Parker supported will not come to fruition because the 76ers came to an agreement with Comcast Spectacor to build a new arena in south Philadelphia to replace Wells Fargo Center, which is less than 30 years old (opened 1996, and has had FIVE names since it was first proposed). Wells Fargo also said that they would not renew naming rights.
