This is probably my favorite Kliban cartoon of all time.

He was served up at posh parties as delicious canapes.

I think he’s currently serving as the Mayor of NYC …

At the start of the 20th century, NYC had to remove about 20,000 lbs of horse manure each month. I’ll bet getting rid of Kong’s body wasn’t much of a deal.

“You haven’t lived until you’ve tried their Gorilla Burger with pickles and sauerkraut!”

They ground him up after he hit the ground.

Good thing Faye got away….Mass hysteria ensued….

Well, at least the fall tenderized him.

That’s how Burger King Kong got started. (They shortened the name later.) :)

Joey Chestnut will keep setting records even if he finds out what’s in those hot dogs…

Bush meat?

Tastes like chicken.

Kong’s skeleton is in the Museum of Natural History, right next to the brontosaurus .

I’ll have a double Kong burger with fries.

My favorite is “How to draw a Qat.”

A little gamey, yet satisfying!

This cartoon reminds me of a short-lived Marvel Comics series called “Damage Control” It was about a bunch of nerdy guys who are hired by New York City to clean up the mess that was left after battles between super heroes and villains .
