I’m an American and I’ve lived in the middle east before, teaching at different universities—Oman, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia. Very good sandwiches there called shawarma. Check out recipes. Yum yum. My wife makes them for me at home.
The Army will probably ship something over and call it tacos, and you’ll think to yourself, “There’s nothing like a good taco…and this is nothing like a good taco.”
Remember when the gov mandated corn based ethanol, and the price of corn for food got really expensive? Restaurants started using flour or corn/flour tortillas. A black day for mexican cuisine.

Chava has got it right. And I’m sure the mess hall will have tacos now and then, I know the ships galley did.
