And clearly when it comes to Trump’s nepotism hires DEI must stand for Don Jr, Eric or Ivanka who certainly have no MERIT-based justification for when they worked in the White House.

Look at the utterly unqualified new Trump nominees, especially in comparison to the extremely well-qualified experts they replaced:

Look at Matt Gaetz (withdrawn, but initially nominated, who had no prosecutorial or even courtroom experience but was loyal to Trump and willing to be aggressive in weaponizing the Dept of Justice against Trump’s political adversaries), Kash Patel (utterly unqualified election denier who wants to shut down the counterterrorism unit) to replace highly-qualified Christopher Wray, a Trump appointee (but who was at least well qualified) who still had two years left on his Trump-appointed term, Tulsi (Russia’s girlfriend) Gabbard and RFK (brain worm road kill chef) and try to use the word “merit” with a straight face as they replaced truly qualified experts.

Oh, and then there is Pete Hegseth. Merit? Zero experience running any large organization (and two very small veterans’ groups that he ran and drove into bankruptcy), and best known as a TV talk show host who often (according to his co-workers at Faux “News”) showed up for his morning show already smelling of alcohol, with credible accusations of rape (charges dropped after paying off the victim). Hegseth was nominated to replace Lloyd Austin, a highly-decorated four star general, who happened to be African American. Merit? Pete Hegseth compared with Lloyd Austin? Hegseth seems more like DUI than DEI.
