I think it somehow reminds me of the titular characters in the 1980s film “Gremlins”: adorable at first sight.

Like one of those little dinosaur toys that grow huge when immersed in water.

It only shows itself as a monster when no one else but Lio is watching! :-D

Reminds me of a Thurber dad: “No son of mine is afraid to go into the woods….” (but only the son sees the creepy man lurking within)

Every now and then, dad gets one over on Lio!

Hello, my baby, hello my honey …

I think this explains why so many monsters to unnoticed. They only let themselves be seen by Lio.

That Lio! Such exaggeration! Monster? What monster?
