Covid: Hello?
Covid: Hello? Who's there? Hello? Hello?! This isn't funny!
Covid: FAUCI?! I know that's you! I can hear you breathing!
Ha, youngsters. I remember having to click the receiver at my grandmother’s house to get the operator. You gave her the four digit number or just the name of the person and she connected you. Most homes were on a party line too so sometimes you’d talk to a whole neighborhood at once.
I now recall when Lio had a guest appearance in “Pearls Before Swine.” He was sent to call the fire department, but he didn’t say anything, so the place burned down.
Just FWIW, the phone type that followed rotaries was the “touch tone” phone. (And I never heard the term “rotary” until after "touch tones’ showed up, and we needed to differentiate between types of phones).

I like the rotary-dial sound effect; it’s very good. And I like Lio playing a practical joke on that derned virus, by golly!

Fauci calls so many times, i would think the virus would remember the number or at least have him on speed dial.
