Interesting! Looks like part of the canal was paved over and has streets on it, but there is still a short bit of canal existing. There is also a trail that parallels it, but it seems some of it has been allowed to grow over into grass, or be blocked by homes. It would be nice if they redid that trail – what I saw of it looks good, with trees, overshadowing a great part of it.

This comic appeared in 1911. In 1913 a major storm basically destroyed the Miami-Erie canal and it ceased to be used.
