Harking back to the time when Larry Flynt had a supposed (or short-lived) religious conversion and the loathsome Chester the Molester comic became the more innocuous (but still not funny) Chester the Protector?
Supposedly the explicit nude pictorials were going to be retained, but similarly transition from mere earthiness to explicitly reveling in womanly beauty and sexuality as manifestations of purity and the divine. I would have been interested to see that, but I don’t think it ever happened.

I do no remember Hustler having cartoons, its been a very long time since I’ve seen one
Playboy did have some good cartoons, some of them even show up here on gocomics over on the Kliban page
