When I lived in Japan, I had bamboo in my back yard. Fortunately, it was a small yard. You can’t get rid of it; you can only control it.

Best flooring if you have cats.

Staying on topic: I spent a weekend digging out the bamboo the previous owners had planted. I thought I got it all. The following Monday morning, I took a quick look at my handiwork to make sure my yard didn’t look like crap in the light of day. There was one small sprout of bamboo, about 2 inches high. I figured I’d tackle it when I got home, and left for work. When I got home 9-1/2 hours later, that sprout was over three feet tall.

Make sure you don’t get bamboozled.
