Having had back pain (relieved by great surgery) I am “painfully” aware of the delicate nature of our bodies. It doesn’t take much to lay us out and change our lives. To this day, when I get out of bed, she says, “Be careful getting up” or “Watch your back.” Advice not to be taken lightly.
On the lighter side, you get to pick out a really cool cane. I couldn’t find one with a hidden sword, so I opted for the one that holds a pint of gin. Even now, when I don’t need it (but keep it handy), I’m tempted to use it. People tend to be helpful when they encounter an old crip like me with his 80 proof cane. Never went for the parking privileges though. Walking has been helpful, plus the further out you park, the easier it is to pull out of the parking space. There’s usually an up side, some are just harder to find…
