Might be hard to believe, but I’ve been a member of several unions, for many years. First, when I worked in a factory. (Yes, I began my illustrious career as a general laborer in a cardboard box factory.) Then, when I worked at a newspaper, as a member of the Writers Guild. And I have indeed walked a picket line. I’ve seen the good and bad of unions. Alas, now, there is no cartoonists union. But if we did, think of the signs we’d make.
