Wow, years beyond the half century point this topic brings back memories and remains relatable.

Don’t be in a hurry, you can’t go back.

I grew a foot and half the year I turned 12, my voice deepened and I started to shave. I think my parents only accepted that I was growing up when I refused to go out trick or treating that year because I was too old for it. Didn’t stop them from trying to get me to go especially after a few kids a year or two older than me showed up in costume for treats but I had hit puberty head on and was bigger and older looking than those who were 2 or 3 years older than me. I put the childhood things behind me and even started my first part time job. Somehow in the rush to be an adult and grow up I lost the joy of life that comes naturally to children and never found it again. Never rush towards the next stage of life, appreciate the one you are in and enjoy it as long as you can.

LuAnn, in some cultures you would be considered dirty and kept apart from the rest. Be grateful to be an American woman. We still have rights and control of our bodies. For now anyway.
