Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for June 19, 2011
Transcript:
Dad: "Wow! Breakfast in bed! Why the special treat?" Mom: "Well, you brought me breakfast last Sunday, so I thought I should reciprocate" Mom: "And it's Father's Day - Breakfast in bed is sort of mandatory. Anyway, Luann was making scrambled eggs for herself, so I just added another egg" Mom: "I mean, because I love you" Dad: "Why does this all seem so familiar?"

DEEEP – even breaths Don, DEEP AND EVEN! … Relax and stay off the coffee after the first cup. – Keep saying; "It’s a COMIC strip, It’s a COMIC strip, It’s a COMIC strip … " – OK?

Is this a new trend of over-arching arcs?

The idea of waking up to breakfast in bed is scary. When I wake up the first thing I want to do is go pee.

She’s just giving ‘tit for tat’…that’s how her husband treated her on Mother’s Day. They’ve been married a long time and it’s only natural they don’t take these occasions as ultra serious events anymore. This shows that the husband is oblivious to how his actions affect his wife’s feeling…and she’s trying to show him how they did. Am sure most of you have used this attic on your kids in the past.

And the Bumsteads are around 100. Few comics stay in one historic period (Red and Rover), but move with the times while the characters either stay the same age (most), move chronologically (Gasolene Alley was first, but Jump Start does now and For Better or For Worse did while current), and a few age, but at a slower than calendar rate (Louann). Get used to it, it is the comics.
