There are a lot of flights into LAX and it’s easy to lose a ditzy pest, whichever way you look at it.

Maybe it’s not too late to switch to the Megabus.

Tiffany will hit on Quill, and Quill will give her the Heisman. No worries, Lu.

Talking about absurdity, do normal human beings say, in perfect synchonisation, “I fly into (name of airport, not city, to boot) on …date” when asked when they are leaving?

I can almost guess whats going to happen.

This strip is at its weakest when Tiffany is involved and trying to muscle in on Luann’s love interests. But I know it’s tough to do a daily strip.

Look at their reactions, she is pleasantly surprised and Quill is stunned speechless. Quill is well aware of the tension between Tiffany and Luann. So being a true Aussie gentleman, he will attempt to keep a neutral position if any jealousies arise between the two.

Tough flight from San Diego-ish to LAX. They probably have to drive to John Wayne first.

This comic is moving along just fine, heh-heh.

and so, the love triangle was born!

The close-shots of panels 2 and 3 exclude reaction shots of either Crystal or Luann. I can hear the eery, quasi-romantic mood music in the background. Fate has thrown Tiff and Quill together, but what happens hereafter is a matter of their choices. Quill will probably be restrained and cautious, but Tiffany might go into predatory mode. What will Luann do?

Yup. And only one flight leaving for LAX on the 18th.

Bill — OK, I know it’s a college football trophy — The Heisman Trophy…. named after…..um…. somebody Heisman.

I’m afraid that for any more than that, you’ll have to consult either Wikipedia or somebody who’s ever watched a whole football game.

Just continuing the bad jokes about the original confusion with the Heimlich maneuver, which I’m sure was a typo, not a mistake.

I Hope You don’t have a flight where the pilot gets locked in the restroom or where the flight crew gets distracted by their laptops, overshoot LAX and end up landing in Greece, or some place.

As a foreigner, I just think it is so cute to call a place the same as is used for bowel loosening medication for a place that always gives me the uhh, you know.

It’s a good thing that Luann has no interest in dating Quill. Otherwise she might get upset about the fact that her lifelong nemisis is going to be flying to LA with the only guy she’s ever had a chance to have a truly meaningful relationship with. And Tiff has every interest in jumping his bones. And even if he’s not interested, she can make it seem as if they did play while away – just to bother Luann.

I have a feeling that the comments section will be moving back into the triple digits this coming week.

Right now Luann must be thinking that she should have locked in Quills interest in her a lot tighter. And she still has time before 12/18, but she won’t. She WILL go to Bernise and talk with her about it. Quill is thinking “My mates told me I’d have a blond on each arm when I came to America.” Not as nice as it sounds, eh Quill? What Tiff is thinking is written all over her face.

She (Tiff) is being set up and He is just on his way. Not a thing to worry about.

Check out Tiffany’s excited expression in panel two as opposed to Quill’s horrified look. At least he’s less than happy about a long flight to L.A. with Tiphony*.

*a pun the Luann gang sometimes uses when they’re either mad at Tiffany or just want to bug her.

I’m with Susan. My boys did not have my permission to do football in school; older 2 were the stars of the gymnastics team, younger boy did wrestling- I’d always go to watch their games, but other spectator sports have never been my thing.

No! Tiff will steal Quill away now. I really wanted this romance to work out. Oh, but maybe it’ll help both Luann and Quill to realize they can’t be “just friends”

I’ll bet Tiffany is thinking “Finally, something good is happening to me; I lost the part in the movie, but I have some time alone with Quill.” And Quill is thinking “Oh, no – I’m going to have to be on my guard – I was hoping that my palling around with Luann would solve the Tiffany problem.”

Tiffany is hoping for some didgeridoo!

The important notion is that Tiff and Quill are flying TO LAX. From WHERE THEY ARE DEPARTING is most assuredly a much smaller airport. It is HIGHLY likely they will be on the same flight if it is a smaller airport, and it is not all that hard to change seats once the plane takes off…. even with assigned seating. If Tiff is wanting to make that happen, I am sure she could easily convince the person in the seat next to Quill to “swap” seats with her so the two “great friends” can hang out.

Ok that was just too corny.

Lol! Wow, some of you guys get so technical over a comic strip! It’s fiction! Of course there are going to be “coincidences”- I don’t think Mr. Evans (Or any comic strip that is based on a storyline for that matter) would have had this strip going for over 25 years without them! :-)

(I just go with the flow and wait with anticipation on how things pan out. Can’t wait to see the outcome of THIS one! LOL)

Actually, the flight may be Truth In Television. There may very well be only one flight daily from/to a small destination (Pittsville) to a hub (LAX). If so, it’s probably a small commuter prop job and seats are not assigned. Reality intrudes

Fun bunch of comments today and Mojitobaby is a new friend as I really liked some of his/hers today. And to those who think we are wasting time – I know it, but I like to hear from many who I now consider friends on their takes on things (and the memories etc that they evoke).

“if” it was around San Diego going to LAX, there are about 160 flights to LAX Dec 18th… that includes the airport of Carlsbad that is called McClellan-Palomar, and is one that is real close to San Marcos(where Greg lives) which have 2 to 7 flights to LAX, and it has 4 flights each Saturday(Dec 18th is Saturday), only 1 early morning, and only one at the Evening

If you are referring to my comment, I did not say any such thing. I SAID that some people get so technical on here- and I actually meant it in a tongue and cheek way. I didn’t say anything about the characters themselves. People talking about flight schedules, and how “unreal” this scenario is- it ISN’T real- and that’s what’s so funny about it ! It’s pretty humorous to see people analyze a comic strip so much. If I had a problem with comic strips and their unrealistic nature, I would not be here reading them.
