I’m betting that Quill gets her in the camp somehow. He and Luann were both in the show.

Once again, Luann proves she is not morally superior to Tiffany. Instead of focusing on how to be with Quill, our little ‘heroine’ is fixated on Tiffany, finding pleasure in one upping her through her kiss with Quill. Which really should be a sweet and treasured memory of Quill and not about Tiffany at all. Luann, the difference between you and Tiffany is that she’s stronger than you are, more determined, and fearless. You hate Tiffany as much, but you are lazy and weak. And Quill, stop indulging this side of Luann. Thought you were better than she was….

Tiffany is willing to do just about anything, (lie about her age, apply for credit cards under dummy names, swindle little old men out of their life savings, etc.) where Luann isn’t.

She’d use and manipulate Quill, then throw him away. – IF he’d let her. Which he won’t. So now he’s a challenge. — She MUST have him!

LuAnn needs to get a job – working at the camp. That way, she could be there to do things like paint scenery and help the seamstress mend costumes, etc. Then she would still be in a position to sidetrack some of Tif’s more rascally maneuvers.

“put a word in for Quilly – boy?”

This has been part of my 2/19/13 theory, with the “have in a place where no one but me will find him” key from what she said to Crystal… but I think there are some story holes that must be filled in to confirm…

Cartoon logic requires that Luann somehow attach herself to summer drama camp, or that Quill detach himself. Either will do, but I’d expect the former….

Tiffany has actually been working on the periphery of show business, striving to acquire experience by being a gopher on the set of that unreleased movie and having a bit part in it, while Luann just fantasizes about going to Julliard because she’s heard it’s a good school, so why would they possibly not take her? If you were running this drama camp, which one of those two applicants would you admit?

Tiff has some personal connection with the camp. How else does she get emails tell her who is accepted and who is not. She may even have some input to keep Luann out.Tiff family has to be connected or rich, why else is Tiff the way she is? She is a priviliged spoilled brat who believes she can get whatever she wants. In every instance of Tiff’s downfalls it has been the real world that interjects reality the honest truth into her "me,me,me,me world.

Actually, You’ve got to hand it to Tiffany. She really pulled this one off. (2/19/213)

What was her plan? First she managed to find a drama camp that was popular enough that they turned people down, that had high enough standards she knew would likely leave Luann out, yet low enough to probably accept Quill and herself.

Having found the camp, she then proceeded to needle Luann about hers and Quill’s long distance relationship:(2/23/2013)

This had the desired effect of making both Luann and Quill that much more anxious to get Quill back to America.(3/4/2012)

Having baited the trap, Tiffany then springs it by planting the seed with Quill that the camp would be a great excuse for him to return to the states. Luann, knowing Tiffany, smelt a rat from the very beginning:(3/7/2013)

    (3/8/2013)

Was it a sure thing? Absolutely not. But at worst, Tiffany would have a great summer at a drama camp which is what her career goals are at the moment.

All in all you must admit it is an impressive piece of conniving.

Tiffany never has been stupid. Her priorities are, shall we say, a bit warped, but she’s always had a very keen head on her shoulders. If she was stupid, she would never have made an effective antagonist to Luann.

Kind of reminds me of something I saw earlier. If Taylor Swift dates a man and then didn’t write a song after breaking up with him, does it count as dates? Same thing here. If Tiffany made a movie and it wasn’t released, does it count as a film credit?

@PMarkIs Tiff the “master planner” that you spent way too much time trying to prove, YES she is. To put the whole Drama Camp thing in motion, yes. But I still believe she has some in.1st, as you shown, she HAS a place that only she can get him. ask why she has such a place and with such confindence.2nd, she got her text, I called it a email, the day before she shown off her “official” letter of acepptance. She may not have bothered to go to camp if Quill didn’t, as you say, take the bait. We’ll have to sit back and see how this plays out. My guess is that we won’t really find out until after she and Quill are in camp and ultimately she gets rejected by Quill. Then we will hear her lamenting of how her plans, and all their details, were shot down by the “nobody” Luann.

Elwood Druit – an Elvis knockoff Druid, sets up a drama camp & works with Tiffany Farrell to create a Will Ferrell wacky drama situation. This is payback to Tiffany because he couldn’t/wouldn’t award her for the trip to his movie set last year. After all he DID date her for awhile before he tried to sweep Luann off her feet. Since Luann wouldn’t accept his fake flashy ring, he jumped at the chance for a rejection of her at his Eyez of Zeye drama camp.

Tiff as presented is a bit of a paradox, if not ludicrous. As a narcissist driven toward movies, theatre, and big events, she would typically be engaged in those endeavors for herself and her future. She acts like that much of the time. That’s inconsistent with this boy crazy, Luann-obsessed role she is given in the strip. I could buy it if they were still in junior high school. Heck, Tiff surely can get plenty of guys – they’re just a sidelight on her way to fame and glory. Luann as I have said, doesn’t seem in touch with her interests at all. Dancers dance. Actors act. Well I guess she’s acting in her own morality play right her in Luanniverse. Lets face it, Luann will never be in drama – she’ll be a teacher, an a d- good one at that. It’s where she is needed.

omg people it’s not a huge mystery why some kids get into something and others don’t. From summer camps to college to jobs…there are only so many spots available. If the summer camp has 30 openings, and 200 kids apply, that’s 170 kids who don’t get in.

Yes, Tiffany has connived to get Quill and her in a drama camp without Luann, but now it’s Luann’s turn. No way is she going to give Tiffany a free hand to do her dirty work on Quill. She’s going to do something, but what?

She could go the Lucille Ball route and try sinking into camp. I doubt it will be that. This sort of thing is only good for maybe one week of strips — two, if you really milk it for all its worth. Then what? Greg Evans has a whole summer to fill.

Another possibility is Luann gets a job there. However, this late in the game, all the positions will likely be filled, and any positions that are left; she likely wouldn’t be qualified.

My money is on Luann applying for the Tech portion of the camp. There won’t be nearly as many applicants for that arc so the chances are good there are still openings to be filled. That would mean that she and Quill wouldn’t be taking very many (if any) classes or workshops together, but they will be in the same camp all summer long. She won’t be on stage, but she will be there working behind the scenes. Think of the possibilities of story arcs that presents to Greg and Karen Evans!

Yup, that’s where I’m betting my money.

Yes. That’s possible too, though a little less likely, maybe.

I’m not sure I can see Tiff taking enough time from her personal grooming routines to generate the applications and whatnot to make it fly. That part would have to be pretty bomb-proof, because the parents fund the thing.

It would explain nicely, though, Tiff’s comment that she would put Quill where only she could find him.

So … I guess we’ll have to wait and see! ARghhhh!

Quill got in on the basis of his singing career. Also often times these camps end up short on males so the standards drop to nothing if you’re the right gender.

Dave, I believe a fake drama camp such as you are suggesting would constitute wire fraud. Do you really think Tiffany is that stupid? Do you really think Elwood is that stupid?

Yes, she could use Gunther as an ‘in’ if he gets hired to do costumes. But I would hope Luann wouldn’t take advantage of Gunth in that manner. It could end up really hurting his feelings.

Continues to not make sense. This drama camp sounds more like a freakin’ school of the arts for high school grads. A leading role in a high school play should totally qualify Luann for a camp aimed at high schoolers. A drama camp should be about teaching teens. Greg expects Luann to learn and improve the craft HOW exactly?

Dear heavens, NO – not more of the Quill/Luann ‘drama’. Sorry, Greg, but this is probably the most poorly-written storyline from start until present that you’ve ever done in the strip. Their dialogue is both drippily sentimental and unrealistic, and the character development for Quill is virtually non-existent. And, as others have observed, Luann’s ‘feelings’ are far more focused on Tiffany than on Quill. Please please please end this storyline.
