Tiffany, whose job it is to get the gym decorated for the dance tonight, wants the kids to get to work putting up the decorations rather than socializing with the guy for whom they had a big going-away party only a couple of months ago. Of course, this makes her a very bad person who should be ridiculed, scorned, and hated.

Everyone there should drop everything and walk out. While in the the process telling her, “Okay big mouth, now YOU do it yourself!”

I’d like to know what Luann is thinking in the last panel, but this is a family strip isn’t it.

I was being slightly sarcastic when I said she was driven, but I changed my mind. This actually reminds me of what she’s like when she plays volleyball. She has been shown before to be very hyper focused on something she’s actually excited about.

If I were to be so bold and a bit “tongue-in-cheek” here, I would also venture a guess that this could be a bit of “Quillism promotion”….. Where one who dissents and does not immediately crowd around him, similar to “Subdivisions” by Rush, are to be ‘cast out’ into the ‘uncool club’….

Being a dance, it would seem like something Tiff would be focused on, something she would care very much about- wanting to make sure it would be something fun and properly done, and not ‘lame’. – While Tiff could also be trying to focus on the task at hand to keep from any emotions in seeing Quill’s return, we don’t know if she genuinely, truly has gotten over him or not… it could be possible that she did , as her feelings afterward hasn’t really been explored much, yet… she could have gotten the message from Quill (albeit probably reluctantly), or at the very least has changed direction and cooled off from her previous feelings, and maybe has even accepted it, some….

Uh, that was a LLLLLOOOONNNNNGGGG time ago. Besides, the US was also a place that was colonized by those released from debtors prison in England, in exchange for several years of ‘indentured servitude’ for the ‘bosses’ who brought them over to work in the US. Ain’t history great?!

Those who cannot learn from history are condemned to repeat it, in the spring semester.

I would take Quill over Aaron Hill any day. Aaron was dull. What did he do besides date a deaf girl and learn sign language during all those years he was part of the strip? Tiffany wants the attention to be on her, and she is jealous of Luann having Quill back. She isn’t showing leadership but rather control of others. As usual she is being rude.

The kids are gathering around Quill. Why? They are somewhat odd, they have challenges with relationships, with family, with school and life. Quill keeps his stuff to himself and outwardly accepts all the kids. He even accepted Tiffany until she made it impossible for him. He is a uniter, and the kids feel better when he is there.He would be your best friend Mikeyj if he went to high school with you.

A long sleeved sweatshirt passes for ‘dressed up’ now? Times have really changed. When we went to HS dances, guys wore suits and girls wore dresses. No sweatshirts.

If Ms. Tiffany had dark hair, with that attitude, she could be Ann Eiffel. Hm… Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. Nah, neither one could pass for Dr. Jekyll. They’d be reps. of that old law firm, Dewey, Cheatem & Howe.

Is the =dance= in three hours? If so, Lu and Tiff should go home to dress if they want to make it on time.

Very nice to see the guys having a bit of a moment in panel one. There’s a serious lack of the fellows interacting in Luann. Always like it when we have some TJ and Brad strips or Knute and Gunther.

“Many of us don’t want him making any more comments ever!”-Although I expect Donny Wallace is now napping, I enjoy skipping over his very long posts and reading some of his shorter ones and would miss his irreverence should he bail.

Nice thought, but it would really be a stretch. My late father’s cousin is heavily involved in regional theater and showed us around once when they were setting up for one of Shakespeare’s plays. Most of the set designers had interior design training and had to map out where the actors would be walking so they didn’t inadvertently put something into their path, etc. It really involves a lot more math than I imagined. Much more than hanging bunting on a wall….

Tiffany worked as a “booth babe” (wearing the Zeye constume) at the comic book and video game conventions, because that’s what aspiring actresses do. You learn to play a role and interact with an audience. She worked as a go-fer on the “Zeye” movie, to learn how movies are made. She modeled for the picture frame photo, to learn how to look good in front of a professional photographer and to get her face out there in front of the public. Although the gym job isn’t directly related to acting, it does in fact have an element of “set design” involved. And of course she attended the drama camp and apparently worked hard there, enough so that she won the female lead role in the camp’s production. -This is the sort of determination that leads to success in the highly competitive field of show business. Lu Ann’s dedication to actually becoming an actress has led her to discover (on the Internet) that Julliard exists and is one of the world’s top drama schools, so she’ll just go there. Except the next day Nancy tells her that it’s expensive,so she decides that Pitt Community College will do just as well. And considering her dedication to actually realizing that ambition, she’s right. Tiffany is driven to become a star, and she does what she can to make that happen. Luann is just out to enjoy life and get a boyfriend.

Boneheads defending Tiffany…. ^Whoohhhoo…. ha ha! I’m glad that got settled! There was a debate about whether bone structure was used to form and support the head…. I totally agree… yes, every human is at least 35% bonehead, ha ha! Lol! and the…. rest… (ahem)… well, the important thing is settled… we’re all boneheads… bones…. dey important! Dem bones!……
