Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for August 06, 2016
Transcript:
Toni: If we want to save money to get our own place, I should just move in with you and TJ for now. Brad: Well, our house is roomier, and it has yard for shannon. Toni: It's settled then I'll live with you boys. Brad: But let's wait until December. Luann: you want to wait until we're married? Brad: not really, but it'll take that long for TJ and me to get the place clean...
Rather than enter back into that argument, I’ll just observe: Brad and Toni didn’t rush into being engaged. As their relationship evolved, each showed a lot of respect and consideration for each other. Brad’s concerns for Shannon, and his willingness to include Shannon in his time with Toni, are not the traits of someone who is in it mainly for the sex and would dump a girl or string her if they chose to live together before marriage. Toni put off talk of marriage until she was sure she wanted Brad and Brad only; she’s hardly a gold digger. Nor is she looking for a sugar daddy – given the fact that Brad was laid off when the Fire Department but she was not, it’s possible that she has more seniority and hence earns more than Brad. What we’ve seen of this couple indicates a steady and mutually respectful relationship – not relationship based on using the other for selfish ends.
