Woman: Excuse me, I think I left my wallet here. Elvin: Lost and found is from 3 to 5 pm. Woman: Well, it's defnitely not in my bag... look, I'm from out of town, would you mind checking quickly? Elvin: Sorry, ma'am. 3 to 5 pm. Woman: But that's not for four more hours! Elvin: Those are the rules. Clare: Elvin, aren't you afraid of losing a customer over a stupid rule? Elvin: She'll be back. Clare: How do you know? Elvin: She left her wallet.
Unfortunately, that is the mind-set of way too many in the service industry. Common sense is disregarded and adherence to the rules is absolute!
