I agree with Lila about the High School one. I figure if you can’t avoid getting hit by a car by the time you’re in high school, you should get a Darwin Award anyway.
When I was in school, from 1st through 12th grades, bus stops could be no closer than 1/4 mile apart. A few years ago I got behind a bus that stopped at every house — every right-up-against-its-neighbor house. Tell me what happened. I think we got wussier, or else no one wants either to take responsibility for their lives on the road or to teach their kids how to be responsible on the road. As to seniors, there’s at least one old-age warehouse in this county that has a unique diamond-shaped warning sign at the crosswalk in front of the building: Silhouettes of an old man with a walker and an old lady with a cane, and a placard beneath the sign identifying it as a “dear crossing.”
Come to Vancouver, Canada – where Mayor Moonbeam dropped the speed limit on a major street just to make it safer for the drunks and crackheads to jaywalk.

I saw a traffic sign like that one, in Quebec. “Look out, wasted guys exit”.

No seat belts! That’s an extra citation for when the cops pull you over, Lila.

Leave it to Lila to lump drunks with children, senior citizens and the handicapped.

Love it, cabalonye. I need that sign in front of my driveway.
