I usually had to work on my birthday when I worked. It was really fun waiting on other people on MY birthday. And I couldn’t even tell them so I could perhaps get a better tip! As for being too picky with men, really it behooves people to be very picky when it comes to a life mate, both male and female. Why settle on someone who isn’t really what you want?
I went a little over 20 years where I hated my birthday and would do my best to forget it or if I remembered, want to get drunk but couldn’t because of responsibilities. Of course, it was on my birthday that our almost 2 year old daughter was dx with cancer. It took me a long time to transition to the more positive “now we know what’s wrong and can treat it”. She delivered a grandson last month.
When I was in school the first Teacher’s Institute day usually fell on my birthday, the teachers had to go to school but the kids didn’t. As a working adult I never got my birthday off, except the three years I was in the Army. We were required to visit the dentist on our birthdays. What fun!!
