How can you ‘abridge’ an Eric Carle story? That is sacrilegious. I was never allowed to ‘change’ the story or take shortcuts with my granddaughter’s favorite bookS. I got my granddaughter back, though. When she got older, I had her read her favorite Eric Carle book(‘The Lamb and the Butterfly’), to ME. About half way through, she was complaining that it was too long!!!!!!
