No need t' pack gorp or granola bars went hiking! Not when you're familiar with all the many indigenous edible plant varieties! Ah. Take this plant here... This is what Native Americans called Akasisewa root... Not only is it delicious, but it can also be used to treat eye infections after the waterproof canoes... Yummm... Weird... That Akasissewa root looks a lot like the diagram of poison ivy in the guidebook. That might explain why my mouth, esophagus and stomach lining are suddenly itchy.

Hmm, the part “root” in “Akasissewa root” might suggest to eat the root, like with potatoes ;-)

“Leaves of three, let it be!” was the warning in the boy scout handbook. You know, back when it was carved in stone :)

Reminds me of a Married..With Children episode in which the guys are out camping with boy scouts and Steve is playing a game that has him blindfolded and chewing a plant trying to guess what the plant is. After failing to guess, the boy scouts tell him it’s poison ivy.

What’s a camping trip arc without some poison ivy?

soo glad that doesnt exist here. Only remotely similar is the nettle, anfd that you know RIGHT AWAY if you touch it. On the other hand is nettle soup supposed to be really good, but I havent tried it.
