Obviously not my high school penny loafers …

practically took a crowbar to get a penny into those.

Equally hard to get it out when it became somehow uncool to have a penny in your loafers.

Not that I generally had a clue about what was cool….

or that we even used the word “cool” yet.

Monty was certainly unlucky for the pants.

People still wear “penny loafers”?

Wow, that goes back – never mind, too many years!!!

Well, I’m hoping he is wearing his lucky shorts. It would be pretty gross to see him shed and burn those polka dot wonders. But, wait , is that his lucky grill and lighter fluid? One wonders.

Some people carry a “lucky” rabbit’s foot on their keychains, apparently never stopping to think about what kind of luck it brot the rabbit.

Now he has lucky NO SMOKING pants, avoid smokes at all costs.

I’m wondering if Monty might be having the same problem we more senior types have—maybe he just forgot he put the lucky penny in his loafers. Or maybe that was so obvious that everyone will say “Doh!” when they read this.

I do not grok how a penny could insert itself into the slot of a penny loafer just by falling down a pant-leg. But, hey, this is Monty, so we have to let him have his little fantasy while he grills the green plaid pants (please!)….
