OK, here is the beginning of the hail mary pass. In the late 50’s, the 49ers had Y.A. Tittle as quarterback and RC Owns as what would be called now a wide receiver. RC was about 6’6" I think. The first time the pass was thrown, it was called an Alley OOP, launched in a high arc and RC who was taller would jump higher than the 3 or 4 backs covering him and catch it.
