Actually, God and the anaesthesiologist kept him alive, while the sturgeon did his carpentry or plumbing. (I assume the other guy was the surgeon, from his pompous manner).
Insurance sends an “EOB” a non-bill notice about what they recently paid and denied. The denied claims are listed as not the responsibility of the insured member, because the hospitals & doctors agreed to accept Medicare and my insurance.
Lo and behold! a note from the doctor’s office arrives in the mail requesting payment of those denied claims. I quickly got on the phone and quoted the EOB specific passage and they agreed to drop the charges.
While waiting to be connected, I hear: “If you are a lawyer, press 3. If you received a collection agency notice, press 4.” One has to wonder how many end up paying these fishing charges.
