As I believe I said a few months back, my urologist wanted to do a prostate biopsy, and I kept fightiing it off. Classic case of denial, I imagine. I got no time for cancer, it would disrupt my life in a very uncomfortable way!! Finally the urologist said it had to be done because my PSA numbers were high. So I made an appointment. When the day came to do it, he said it had been so long since my last blood-work that I should do it again and then make a new appointment.

Yesterday (Monday, here) I got a call from the urologist office. My PSA numbers were down, and did I want to make an appointment for next March!!!!!!!! I made the appointment.

I was not surprised, but I was glad to wait another six months and see him again.

    I ain’t got time for any ($%_$!$#( cancer!!! :-)))))))))))))))

The avatar is the Coast Guard cutter, Point Camden, towing the fishing boat I was on back to Long Beach Harbor. The captain and the third man aboard could not get the engine to started, we had no anchor and the wind was pushing us toward the NE coener of the island. then they tried to contact the Coast Guard, but the batteries were to low to get a signal to the mainkand

We made radio contact with the navy base on San Nicholas, which belongs to the navy, We were notified that the CG would be there about 1:00 AM. We had a muti-hook thing about five feet square on board, that was pretty heavy. A heavy rope was tied to it and it was thrown over the side. It got tangled up in the kelp and slowed us down a lot. It was still daylight wheb we got word to the CG.

I could hear the waves breaking against the rock behind the boat, and we were getting close wheb the CG showed up about an hour earlier than expected, which was probably just in time. Another hour and I;m sure they would have ben too late.

On the way in I was on watch in the cabin, and in touch with the CG. I keot hearing this …sound under me and realized that these experience seamen I was with had run the batteries down trying to start the engine while the propeller in gear!!!.. I made a couple of short trips close in, fishing for sharks, then hung it up when I also realized the boat was far from being in decent shape.

Went back up in the San Bernardino Mountains and back to my landscaping job. Thus ended another episode in the Life of Slim.

And I,m gone til this PM..

MontanaLady…………..I had the chance to try bottom fishing on a small (40 foot) fishing boat. Having never done that before, I went for it. I was pretty good at it once I learned how. I’ve always liked fishing, anyhow.

After we’d been towed back to port. I started noticing things about the boat that convinced ,me that it cou;d break up in a rough sea. That’s when I quit and went back to landscaping. Much, much safer.

Incidently, the glow in the upper right corner of the avatar is sunrise!!
