    Good Morning, Villagers,

Looks like I might be first this evening…….

So, who would like a night cap? I have a bottle of Merlot opened, and there is some Apple Juice in the refrig……as well as a bottle of My Mountain Man’s White Zinfandel.

Had another thunderstorm this evening. Not too long or vicious. And, it got up to 93 today. (too hot for me)…..it was the sixth day this summer over 90 degrees.

Please may I hear from you: For years I;ve been clipping the funier comics from the newspaper. When I realized it contributed to my clutter, I began to organize the comics and culled all the Calvin & Hobbes comics together, I saved so many C&H comics because I felt they are outrageously funny. I began a project of scotchtaping my C&H comics into a notebook. Each comic had 4 pieces of scotchtape curled around the corners so they would be readable in my notebook.. The project took several weeks.

I showed my roommate the notebook of C&H comics as he only came of age (he’s 26)after C&H was no longer in its original print. After a few days, I found my C&H notebook was no longer in my apartment. My roommate told me he brought it to work to show a coworker. For weeks I asked him when he would bring the notebook back and he said his coworker wanted to photocopy it.

Then he told me his coworker went to Israel to attend her son’s funeral. Meanwhile, there was a fire in his office and there was a lot of water damage to the lockers. It was several weeks later that the coworker returned to the US and opened her locker to find that my C&H notebook was completely destroyed but also her family research shared the same fate.

I feel badly that my work is lost. A lot of bad things have happened in my life, so this is far from the worst. My roommate’s coworker has not reached out to express regret, probably because of her other losses, far greater than the loss of my C&H notebook. I’m wondering whether eventually she should offer me a C&H book to somehow compensate me , although they may not be the same comics I had in my notebook (there were hundreds of comics). However, because of the coworker’s greater loss, I have not said anything.

Lately, I’ve been thinking the real culprit is my roommate who took the notebook to his office without my permission and procrastinated returning it to me.

    What do YOU think?

Arye – I agree that the real culprit in this story is your roommate, who not only took something of yours without asking permission, but acted irresponsibly afterwards. He owes you some compensation. I think I can help you in another way. Over the years, I have saved the complete Calvin and Hobbes in electronic format. I would be glad to send you a CD with the entire collection on it. Let me know.

    Morning folks.

Oh yah, the room mate needs to do something here.

Yep, thunder storms can be nice to watch, until they seem to be right over head. One night I had gotten up to the call of nature, a thunder storm was going on when suddenly, pop, fizz, BANG!! Didn’t go back to sleep right away.

    Ok people, catch ya later.

Your roommate is an idiot!!!! I used to cut out comics, also. Now I save then on the ’puter and back up everything. You might try going back through the archives and doing likewise. Better yet, MAKE YOUR ROOMMATE DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

@AryeUygurYour roommate is THE guilty one. Nobody with a sense of rightmess would re-lend something he borrowed. His co-worker should have returned the strips to him before she left! But tghe largest burden is on the person who borrowed and re-loaned, The roommate!!!

JUst got bacj from a weekend with me Ladt of the Hills, and her menagerie. Had a great time. It was the youingest dog’ , Sadie"s’ birthday. Actually, it was pretty much the same kind of day Sadie lives through. It’s more like she has 365 birthdays a year. This dog is totally spoiled, and I sort of contribute to the spoiling, I’m sure.I have finally broken down and told her I would take her newest cat. Just got to get an okay from the manager here. The cat will be named Naranjo. I’ll post up a pic of him on my avatar as soon as I get him here and take his pic.

Hope everybody. Hope all had as fun a weekend as I did.
